The Jazzdor Strasbourg-Berlin festival opens up the doors on the contemporary European jazz scene. In addition to a talented roster of artists mainly from Germany and France, the event has also welcomed international stars such as saxophonist David Murray.
This year, Jazzdor takes place in at Kesselhaus Kulturbrauerei (Berlin) from 3 to 6 June. The release of the first record of the Jazzdor series makes the 2014 edition of the festival an unmissable event for all jazz enthusiasts in the Berlin area.
About Jazzdor Strasbourg-Berlin
Jazzdor Strasbourg-Berlin is the result of an interesting musical and cultural collaboration between Strasbourg (France) and Berlin (Germany). For a few days in June, the two destinations become “twin cities of jazz” and a window on contemporary European jazz. This year Jazzdor presents 11 shows on a three-day stretch, from 3 to 6 June.
In addition to its roster of European jazzmen, the festival will also feature the release of the very first record of the Jazzdor series. The album captures Joëlle Léandre’s and Vincent Courtois’ concert during Jazzdor Strasbourg-Berlin 2013.
The season of music with Jazzdor will continue beyond 6 June. In fact, on 14 July – 14 July is an important date in the history of France – Strasbourg will host Armistice 1918, show by French pianist Bill Carrothers and his band, featuring celebrated American drummer Bill Stewart of the trio Larry Goldings/Peter Bernstein/Bill Stewart.
