The Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, or simply Montréal Jazz Festival, is regarded as one of the most prestigious jazz fests in the world. Since 1980, it has been presenting pretty much every big name in jazz, as well as in other genres such as funk, pop and R&B.
The combination of outdoor and indoor stages makes it an highly sophisticated event, with attendance at some shows well above 100,000 patrons.

This year, the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal will celebrate its 35th anniversary from 26 June to 6 July and it will feature Cassandra Wilson, Bill Frisell, Ambrose Akinmusire Bobby McFerrin, Dianne Reeves, Marcus Miller, Monty Alexander and Dr. Lonnie Smith.
Jazz will not be the only music genre presented, as the fest will also see B.B. King, Elvis Costello, Earth, Wind & Fire and Diana Ross and Katie Melua perform live.
