Established in 1991, the Vienna Jazz Festival – also known as Jazz Fest Wien – has become a modern and urban festival with an international reputation. All this, places it as one of the three most important jazz festivals in the world and boosting Vienna’s prestige as travel destination and world’s capital of music.
Alongside classical music, waltzes and opera, the city also offers a rich landscape of jazz, blues, soul and world music.
For over 20 years, Vienna has bee recognized not only as the city of classical music, waltzes and opera, but also as a prominent city of jazz. Usually taking place between the end of June and the beginning of July, the Vienna Jazz Festival is among Vienna’s cultural highlights.
During the years, the festival has served as prestigious stage for many big names in contemporary music. It will be back, from 26 June to 8 July, with yet another sensational lineup!
The list of headliners includes Al Jarreau, Ambrose Akinmusire, Sinead O’Connor, Dr. John, Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Natalie Cole.
